Our Quality Assurance

Clinical Oversight Involvement of Regulated Health Professionals

IME services deal with complex medical, disability and legal topics. As such, all vendors offering IME services should have Regulated Health Professionals in oversight roles to ensure the quality of their services.

At NYRC we are proud to offer such clinical oversight by Regulated Health Professionals in our operations. Our clinical staff review medical briefs from referral sources when they come in to ensure that the documentation is complete and to ensure that the correct IME specialist has been chosen for that particular case. In addition, our clinical staff are highly involved in the review of the medical reports to ensure clinical accuracy and objectivity.

Thanks to our clinical oversight, NYRC is able to ensure that our clients receive accurate reports that are clinically supported and that are within the expert’s scope of practice.

Credentialing and Monitoring of Assessors

The people receiving IME services through NYRC deserve confidence in the objectivity, competency, and credibility of their assessors. NYRC offers access to the most rigorously credentialed and reviewed experts in Canada. This is our process:

  • Each medical professional, regardless of discipline, is screened carefully prior to acceptance as an independent professional. We ensure all of our assessors are duly licensed and registered to practice, and that they maintain adequate liability insurance in accordance with their respective colleges and associations.
  • In addition to initial screening, NYRC performs industry leading, real-time credentialing. Our assessors are reviewed for any complaints, license issues, negative media and other issues before every assessment they perform. This increased scrutiny further protects all stakeholders and helps to achieve an independent assessment process every single time.

CARF Accreditation

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) is an independent, non-profit accrediting body with a mission to promote quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement of services centred on enhancing the lives of the persons served. The accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.

NYRC has received accreditation from CARF for two programs: Independent Evaluation Services for Adults and Independent Evaluation Services for Children and Adolescents. We are very proud to be an accredited provider of IME services and in our ability to ensure that the people we serve receive their services in a respectful and professional environment.
