Our Community
At NYRC, giving back and having a positive impact on the communities that we serve is vitally important to our corporate culture and values. For us, commitment is part of our core values. It means to be present and show true care and dedication towards the people around us, at work, at home, in local neighbourhoods, and the entire country.
Having served Canada’s IME needs for 30 years, NYRC is proud to support and raise funds and awareness for a variety of charities, community organizations, and social causes. Here are three causes that represent our philosophy: the belief that we can make life better, the ability to find silver linings everywhere, and collaboration as a driving force for change.
Hope Air was founded in 1986 by Joan Rogers and Jinnie Bradshaw, C.M., two women who wanted to make travelling to healthcare facilities possible for people whose financial situation might render the visit an impossibility.
Hope Air is committed to providing families with flights and accommodations when they need to travel long distances for vital medical care. During the pandemic, Hope Air expects an even greater need as appointments are re-booked and job losses make travel even less affordable than ever.
To date, Hope Air has arranged more than 150,000 travel arrangements for Canadians in financial need travelling to vital medical care far from home.
We are proud of our initiatives. We know that true community engagement is dynamic. We are excited to integrate community initiatives into everything that we do so we can continue to respond to the needs of Canadians.
Here are some of the charitable organizations and events that we support which have positively influenced the local communities that we serve:
Sharing is caring – especially when it comes to charity. We'd love to hear what you care about.
